Catherine Cloran is a Sydney-born visual artist/photographer living on the North Coast of NSW. She graduated from the National Art School (Painting Diploma, 1975), University of Western Sydney (BA Fine Arts Hons, 2001) and Monash University (MA Visual Arts, 2006). She has exhibited in solo and group shows in Hong Kong, Melbourne, Perth and Sydney and undertaken residencies in Beijing and Japan. She has been short-listed for several photography art prizes, including the Head On Photo Festival Landscape Prize in 2015, where she won the NSW Parliament Landscape Photography Prize. She has been short-listed twice for the Perth Centre for Photography CLIP Award, first in 2014 and then in 2018. Her most recent solo exhibitions were, Confluence at Adelaide Perry Gallery, Croydon NSW, May 2021, and Passaggio, at Barometer Gallery, Paddington, May 2018. She was also represented by Arthere at Sydney Contemporary at Carriageworks in September 2018.
