Undulating roads of Broken Hill by night.
Skye Zart is a Newcastle and Broken Hill-based photographer, of the self-taught variety. As a new photographer exploring the medium’s possibilities, she found her focus drawn to nightscapes. Her work attempts to dip a toe into the great, gentle nature of the night. Often her photographs use industrial-adjacent settings to examine the human intention that remains in ordinary places, sometimes while the environment is being reclaimed. Skye hopes to celebrate the fondness she has always had for place, and the way it lodges its small eccentricities in memory.
