Statement
This photograph is part of a series I am working on called 'No Parking'. The images in the series capture parking signs that have become overwhelmed by nature. The idea behind the works is that it explores notions of the desire of humans to tame and control nature, a battle that humans can so often lose.
Originally an abstract painter, Fiona’s latest bodies of work have moved away from solely using paint, to incorporating photography into her practice. Photography has transformed the way she sees the world and thinks about creating art, and subsequently the work has taken on an approach that examines and explores the nature of human life in the built environment.
