Soft pink. Baby blue. Barbed wire. Shark.
Since being given a Kodak 110 cartridge film camera as a seven-year-old, Kate Atkinson has been taking photos. No longer wielding her pink 80s camera, Kate delves into both digital and film, with a love for medium format and spending hours in her home darkroom. Before the world changed, Kate travelled extensively for both leisure and work in the music industry, with a niche for touring in remote Australia. This is reflected in her photos, through stark, shadowless landscapes and the colourful characters she has met on the road. An award-winning photographer, Kate was the recipient of the People's Choice award in the 2019 National Photographic Portrait Prize and more recently won the 2021 Stanthorpe Photography Awards.
