Statement
In central Victoria one Sunday afternoon, Pete from Maryborough is searching for gold. Some folk refer to this practice as dirt fishing and today while fishing in the dirt, he has found enough to pay for lunch. His fishing partner unclips a leather pouch from her belt and empties the contents into her hand; there lie three small stones which appear more matte than glistening. This is the reason the road here was built and they are the reason why this location has guardrails. For over 140 years, people have made the journey here to come looking for these three small stones. Today they were found by Pete from Maryborough.
