Statement
Joe Landro's work exemplifies the mundane by turning paper into a thing of beauty. Laced with the silver blades which tear at his shirts, day in - day out, his work is an ode to the human being before and after him, their dreams crushed; preserved. On the other hand, Landro's smashed concrete is a post-modern exploration of Italian identity in a modern Australia.
While Landro avoids flippantly snapping photos, he uses print making processes and print manipulation to find truth.
