Larry Defelippi (Perth, Australia, b. 1971) is a photographer from Perth, Australia. He completed a Bachelor of Communications with 1st Class Honours at Edith Cowan University (Perth), and is currently completing a PhD in Visual Arts at Curtin University (Perth), focusing on the visual representation of former combatants from the decades-long Colombian conflict. His most recent work, Recordando Excombatientes (2019) consists of a series of assisted self-portraits taken by ex-combatants from various armed groups from the Colombian conflict to provide a visual mediation of their respective lived experiences. Defelippi primarily photographs with a medium format film camera, and his resultant work reflects the contingent and serendipitous elements that are a hallmark of analogue photography. His work has been exhibited in Australia, Colombia, Germany, Japan, and Sweden. His work is held in numerous private collections.
