Statement

Your existence is a faint dent.

Tip-toes through this nebula’s history like fingers combing a rug,
or raindrops on window.

Resumed, sooner or later,
by forthcoming voyager.

A pebble into a pond.

Yu-Ying is a published writer and creative based in Perth, WA. He holds a Bachelor of Architecture, and a Master of Arts in Professional Writing and Publishing from Curtin University. His creative non-fiction writing (Homesick) has been published in the Portside Review.

Yu-Ying is a photography enthusiast, whose fondness for photography grew from a hobby to his chosen method of storytelling. He journals the urban landscape of the city he lives in, the third spaces and the relationships between the inhabitants. Struck by the film Yi Yi (2000), Yu-Ying is especially drawn to the backstories cocooned beneath people’s façades. He finds the rare escape of emotions, which often seep out from the cracks of a worn-out urbanite, to be telling of profound histories that stir up curiosity.
