Statement

From the granite outcrop below the tor, past Lake William to West Cape Howe. A topography moulded by rising and falling seas, dunes sculptured during the ice ages beginning to petrify, and before all that, Rodinia the super-continent, formed during the Archaen era, now buried beneath the forest of blackbutt.

John Toohey is a photographer, writer and historian, who prefers working with film, partly because the limitations it imposes forces the photographer to think about what is being photographed and how, and partly because there is something mysterious and tactile old film cameras have that modern digital ones lack.
